 A NIGHT WITH

SARAH VAUGHAN

Kimberlyn Avon

Come out and listen through story and song of the miraculous life of Sarah Vaughan, most famously known as "Sassy" and "The Divine One."

Kimberlyn Avon is the definition of jazz.  If she had been placed in a time machine to take her back in time, she would have grown up with Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Dinah Washington, Rosemary Clooney,  Judy Garland. She hails from Brooklyn, N.Y. and has been acting, singing and writing in one form or another all her life. To see her on stage one audience member wrote“…you never thought she was acting.”- Dewey Allen.  Last year, Kimberlyn Avon played a singing drag queen in the 2016, NYC International Fringe Festival Musical “That’s Misfits To You.”

Kimberlyn continues to study her craft of music and acting with major coaches in NYC. Her main focus is to produce and perfect this show so that the world will remember the life and times of Sarah Vaughan.

“A Night with Sarah Vaughan” is being directed by Juson Williams, singer, songwriter, dancer, actor, and award winning choreographer.  The musical director is Dionne McClain-Freeney a pianist, composer, singer, choral director, arranger, and teaching artist who has appeared on numerous national and international stages.
